Primary

A school “open to the world,” a multifaceted educational program, an embrace of respect, acceptance, and support for children taking their first steps on their educational journey.

With each child at the center, in a structured environment rich in stimuli, and through modern teaching methods and approaches, children gain knowledge, develop social and emotional skills, and cultivate values.

Primary school serves as a compass for every child’s educational path. That first contact with a structured learning environment is crucial to their later academic and cognitive development.

At Ellinogermaniki Agogi, learning becomes a lived experience through multifaceted educational activities. Through the design and implementation of learning activities connected to everyday life and the use of modern teaching methods, children gain knowledge, consolidate the material taught, and cultivate oral and written expression in Greek, German and English. They grasp mathematical concepts, learn how to study, think independently, investigate, reason, create, and collaborate. Personalized instruction and support tailored to each child’s learning abilities and preferences, always with respect for their unique personality, allows every child to develop their individual strengths and talents.

With an interdisciplinary approach across various scientific fields, the use of collaborative learning methods, and participation in group research projects, children interact and learn to work together, nurturing intrinsic motivation for learning. Inquiry-based learning, hands-on experimentation in the Science Lab, improvisation, discussion, and the exchange of ideas provide a rich framework for expression and growth. Students discover and internalize knowledge through observation, reflection, analysis, and research.

Learning at Ellinogermaniki Agogi does not take place only in the classroom. It extends into the Science Lab, the Music Room, the Art Room, the Library, and the sports facilities. Outdoor areas transform into a bio-garden, a weather station with handmade instruments, and corners for knowledge and creativity-based play. Music, choir, drama, and visual arts nurture children’s aesthetic sense and inspire them to explore new forms of expression.

Educational activities, holiday celebrations, theatrical performances, scientific projects, artistic events, author talks of children's books, expert presentations, and social solidarity initiatives all contribute to a sense of community and foster the well-rounded development of each student’s personality.

The use of new technologies, rich educational material, and the ongoing training and guidance of teachers provide alternative paths for learning and exploration that complement and support the core curriculum. Valuable support is also offered through the school’s special publications in Greek, Mathematics, History, Environmental Education, Natural Sciences, and Foreign Languages. The Psychological Support Department offers assistance to both parents and students through individual and group counseling sessions.

In all Primary School grades, students engage in regular physical activity. On the track, in the swimming pool, on football, basketball, and volleyball courts, children develop motor skills, learn the basic techniques of individual and team sports, swim, participate in teams, and develop a love for physical activity.

Beyond the core morning program, students at Ellinogermaniki Agogi have the opportunity to stay at school each afternoon, either studying for the next day’s lessons with the help of specialized teachers or choosing extracurricular activities that interest them. All non-sport activities include designated time for lunch, during which children enjoy meals in the school’s dining hall, prepared according to a carefully designed and balanced diet. Transportation to and from school is provided by school buses with experienced drivers and attendants.
