Junior High School

The Junior High School is the stage at which the foundations of tomorrow's academic citizen are laid. Our goal at this stage is the correct foundation of scientific concepts, the development of initiative and responsibility, the cultivation of empathy, the exercise of critical thinking and the experiential approach to cognitive subjects through the diversity and alternation of teaching media. In the Junior High School, emphasis is placed on the versatility of stimuli, the intensive teaching of two foreign languages, the application of new technological data, the utilization of modern media and methods in teaching, as well as the development of a dynamic program of activities adapted to the needs of adolescents.

The official books of the Ministry of Education are supplemented by the auxiliary textbooks of our school's publications with material prepared by the teachers with the needs of the students in mind. The Physics and Chemistry laboratories, designed for the experimental teaching of the respective subjects, the Computer Science laboratory with a personal computer for each student, the fully equipped Music and Art laboratories, the projection rooms, the lending library that is constantly enriched, the Observatory, Foucault's pendulum, the works of art by important creators that adorn the spaces in which the students move, compose the image of a modern school that promotes broader intellectual cultivation through many paths, experiential activities and different stimuli. The constant collaboration of teachers with the researchers of our school's Research and Development Department, the presence of students at conferences, participation in competitions, and the organization of activities enrich everyday school life and shape a multidimensional and dynamic educational program.

Research projects are a basic institution in the Junior High School. In the context of all courses and skills workshops, with the guidance of teachers, students choose the topic of their work, organize themselves in groups, research, evaluate and compose. The presentation of the projects at a special event at the end of the year is the culmination and the best reward for their efforts.

The teaching of German and English is organized at levels with the aim of excellent learning and preparing students for the acquisition of language degrees. Educational activities also extend to the approach to the culture of other peoples, always based on faith in our own national and religious values ​​​​and respect for the values ​​​​of others. The cooperation of our students with peers from schools in Europe, the implementation of educational trips, the school's summer program, the visit of students from German-speaking schools, participation in European programs, continuous contacts with educational institutions abroad are part of the network of relations of Hellenic-German Education with schools and organizations around the world. Our goal is to offer our students the resources that will allow them to study, live, and work in a world without borders. An important element of the life of the High School are cultural events, meetings with personalities of letters and arts, discussions with scientists, theatrical performances, national and religious celebrations, humanitarian actions, educational visits and excursions.

In all sections of the High School, the institution of the responsible teacher operates, who monitors and supports the efforts of his students in collaboration with the family. Our school psychologists stand by the side of students, teachers and parents, willing to listen to teenage concerns and offer responsible and effective guidance.

Both the morning and afternoon sports program of the High School are dynamic and multifaceted. The afternoon clubs respond to the interests, inclinations and pursuits of each student, completing the panorama of school life.
